We know how frustrating it is when our internet is down, and we can't access any websites. It is even more annoying when we are fully engaged in reading an article and click on an interesting link to only find out that we are offline. The internet is the lifeline in today's world and when these words show up on our screen - ‘there is no internet connection', we feel desolated. Everyone knows that sinking feeling, but don't despair as Google made every effort to make your experience better even when you have no internet.

T Rex Dino Game

In 2014, developers at Google came with a fun javascript-based dinosaur game dubbed T-Rex or otherwise known as the T-Rex Runner. Google products always feature neat tricks, but this boredom-killing game is by far the best. The dino game is often an overlooked feature on Chrome. The endless runner game appears on the screen when you are disconnected from the internet. It features a dinosaur sprinting, jumping, and dodging obstacles to survive as long as possible. Playing T-Rex is fairly simple with basic controls. All a player has to do is jump over cacti, and duck when birds or other obstacles fly by. The goal of the T-Rex is simple, survive and dodge obstacles as long as you can.

We are excited to offer the same game on our website whereby players need not wait for their internet connection to be disabled to play T-Rex. It is the carbon copy of the original game and one will have some fun. Here you can play the game online and compete with friends and family. The main goal is to survive and score as many points as you can.

So if one might ask how popular the game is? According to Google, the relatively secret game is played by approximately 270 million people across the globe.

How to Play T-Rex?

Playing the boredom-crushing dino game is very simple. Players only have to use two controls - the 'spacebar' and the 'down arrow.' To start the game, press Spacebar and you will see the dinosaur sprinting in the infinite runner. The T-Rex has obstacles in the form of cacti and birds that aim to stop the dinosaur. One has to hit the Spacebar to jump and down arrow to duck. If you touch any of the obstacles, its game over. Players can even choose to pause the game by pressing the 'Alt' button on the keyboard.

All the players have to do is jump by pressing the 'spacebar' when the cacti approach the dinosaur. The other obstacles being the birds fly at multiple heights, so players can either choose to jump or duck based on their judgment. The low-flying birds are tricky to dodge and therefore it is best to jump them. The speed of the game increases with every passing obstacle. As T-Rex is addictive, it is best to play it no more than a few minutes. It is an infinite-runner and the increasing speed tends to strain the eye. The T-Rex is great in keeping us from getting bored.

What Is the Highest Score on the T-Rex Game?

First and foremost, players must forget about beating the never-ending runner game. It ends after 17 million years of playtime, which is equal to the time T-Rex or Tyrannosaurus was alive on the planet earth. But when it comes to points, the highest possible score is 99,999. Once the player reaches 99,9999, the game resets the score to zero.

History of T-Rex?

The T-Rex Runner was first launched in September 2014. But why did developers at Google choose a dinosaur?

Sebastien Gabriel, Chrome's Senior User Interface Designer at Google, revealed that the T-Rex is like turning the clock back to the prehistoric ages - the time when internet and WiFi were limited to school or work. Not many people from the current generation might be able to understand it.

According to the team at Google, the dinosaur character was first named 'Project Bolan.' The name was given in reference to Marc Bolan, the lead singer of the English rock band T.Rex.

Can the T-Rex Be Hacked?

The Javascript game is only made to entertain and kill boredom. There is no fun in cheating, but interestingly your dinosaur can become immortal easily. It is very easy to hack the game. Once done, touching any of the obstacles such cacti will not end the game. Although it is not fair and fun to do so, one can just try for the sake of it. Here are the steps to hack and become immortal at the dino game:

  • First, open the 'No Internet' page where your dino is chilling.
  • Start the game by pressing the 'Spacebar.'
  • Once the game is active, right-click and choose the option 'Inspect' or click 'Ctrl + Shift + I.' This will open the Chrome Dev Tools.
  • Now select the 'Console' tab.
  • Type the following command - 'var original = Runner.prototype.gameOver' and hit Enter.
  • Next, type the following command in the second line - 'Runner.prototype.gameOver = function (){}' and press Enter.
  • Exit DevTools and continue playing T-Rex as an immortal.

The dinosaur will not be affected by the cacti or the birds. All you have to do is sit and watch the points accumulate.

While Google's game is amazing, we have replicated the same on our website. One can enjoy and challenge their friends to come and play on our website.
